This will be an easy D3. We'll walk at a slow to moderate pace, and take the shorter but more steep way up. The view from the top is incredible.

Located north of Atlanta in Cumming, Georgia, Sawnee Mountain Preserve provides visitors with 963 acres of scenic passive space, hiking trails and an interactive Visitor Center. The Visitor Center serves as the administrative home for the Outdoor Division of Forsyth County Parks and Recreation. There are two visitor's centers, please meet at the Spot Road one.

We will gather under the front entrance to the Visitor's Center. From there, we'll start on the Laurel Trail then take the Indian Seats Trail in a counter clockwise loop. This is the more difficult way up. We'll pause at the "Indian Seats" and observation deck and then complete the circle on the Indian Seats Trail. We will also make a quick stop at each of the abandoned mine shafts. Total hike should be right around 4 miles.

Dogs are not allowed at this park.

Good hiking shoes - will get muddy if it has recently rained

Exit 15 Bald Ridge Marina Rd/Cumming
Left towards downtown Cumming
Right at third traffic light on Tribble Gap Road - a.k.a. Bettis Tribble Gap (City of Cumming clock tower will be on your right)
Go approximately 4 miles (go past one Sawnee Mountain Visitor's Center on your right) and then go right on to Spot Road. You will see the entrance to the Visitor's Center on your right across from Twin Lakes Rd.
