Itinerary:

Piedmont Park is a 189 acre "Central Park" of Atlanta located in the heart of the city, Midtown. The park is home to miles of beautiful walking paths and we will leisurely wander around them on our Saturday morning (ish) stroll.  Saturday is also Green Market at Piedmont Park. If you're so inclined, you can stop by the Park’s local farmers market featuring fresh produce, baked goods, fresh juice, honey, sauces, pasta, cheese, pastries, health /wellness products, artists for breakfast,  brunch or lunch before or after our stroll. The green market runs from 9am to 1pm.

We will meet up at the 12th street entrance to the park, at the corner of Piedmont Ave and 12th Street. We will walk for about an hour to an hour and a half for a distance of at most 3 miles, probably closer to 2. The pace will be slow, so if you're looking for a workout, this isn't it. Please feel free to join me at Willy's Mexicana Grill when we are done (completely optional).

Beginners and new members are encouraged to join us on this easy walk!

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

from I-75/85, Exit 10th St

Turn East on 10th St (this is a left if travelling south, a right if travelling north on 75/85)

Go 5 blocks to piedmont ave. turn left and go two blocks to 12th st. park entrance is on the right.

Parking can get interesting, so allow extra time to park and get to the meet up spot.

Free on-street parking can be found in the neighborhood south of 10th street (across from the park), but be prepared to hunt for a space. Parking meters are free on sundays in midtown so don't worry about paying those.

There is a new parking deck for the Botanical Garden which is open to park visitors, but there is a fee ($2 for the first hour, then $1 for each additional half hour after that). To get to the parking deck, continue on 10th St past the park, turn left on Monroe Dr, then left on Worcester.

An excellent map of the park can be found here: http://www.piedmontpark.org/pdf/Parking_Facility_Map.pdf
