Itinerary:
This one is easy. Once we met at Cool River Tubing, they will provide us tubes and give us a short bus ride to the start. From there we float down the Chattahoochee River back down to downtown Helen. About midway through the tubing there is waterslide which we will stop at. The whole ride down should take 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Although the event is rated easy, this is not a flat water float. There will some sections where the river will flow fast (the more the better) and you may have to get out if you get stuck. For those that have come from other regions, this is not the type of tubing you can tie a tube with a cooler next to you. Once we get back to Cool River headquarters there is an area to change. After that you are are your own. You can get a quick lunch, explore the town of Helen or head back home.

We did this last year in August and although we had a great time, low water levels did make it a little rough to navigate the river. Hopefully doing this earlier in the season will make the event more fun.

Required Items to Bring:
Footwear such as water shoes, sandals or old athletic shoes. Flip flops are not recommended. Swimsuit. 		Recommended Items to Bring:

Change of clothes, towel, sunscreen, snack to eat before event as 1:00 to 2:00 PM is the estimated finsih time.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Exit GA 400 and go north. When GA 400 ends at Chevron station. continue on GA 115. Go 4.8 miles where GA 115 meets GA 52. Turn right. Continue on GA 115 until Cleveland GA. At traffic circle in Cleveland go north on US 129. Then look for GA 75 which will shortly follow. Go north towards Helen. At Helen take a right at Brucken Strasse. Look for the large Cool River Tubing parking lot.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $52.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:
Important information for paid events in which payment is managed through the AOC:

     - Payment must be received by the payment due date and prior to participation in the event.

     - Some paid events require a minimum number of registered participants. If that number is not met, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued to those who have already paid.

     - Third-party vendors often require damage deposits. Each registrant agrees to be liable for and required to reimburse the Atlanta Outdoor Club for any withheld deposits due to the actions of or damages caused by that registrant.

     - No partial payments. All registrants must pay the posted Member Cost regardless of any agreement you may have with any party involved in the event.

     - Read the event description carefully for additional information, and contact the trip leader(s) with any questions.

*Note: Refunds less $5 until June 1. After that refunds only if you designate a replacement for your spot or someone from the waiting list takes your place. No refunds or roster additions after Wednesday June 6th. If event is canceled because of weather conditions, full refunds or credit to future AOC events will be made.
