Itinerary:

Join me on one of my favorite North Georgia hikes. This will be a moderately paced hike that is 4.8 miles roundtrip and about 1200 feet elevation gain. We will begin at the Byron Reece Trailhead near Neel’s Gap. We will hike the Bryon Reece Trail up several switchbacks and meet up with the Appalachian Trail at .7 miles. We will then continue south on the AT for another 1.7 miles to the shelter on top of Blood Mountain. Here we will rest a while, enjoy the beautiful views and eat lunch before heading back to the car. If people would like, we can stop at the Walasi-Yi Store at Neel’s Gap before heading back to Atlanta.
