Itinerary:

Urban Hike through Historic Roswell. We'll do small parts of Vickery Creek (including the falls) but for the most part it will be roads and sidewalks through downtown Roswell including the Roswell Square, Bulloch Hall, Barrington Hall, the shops/restaurants on Canton St, churches on Mimosa Blvd, Sloan St Park and the old cemetery on Sloan St. We're hoping to see some of the older homes behind Vickery Creek decorated for Halloween. I have a route mapped out that's about 4.25 miles.

Despite the D2 rating, this is not a beginner hike. There are numerous hills and we do need to stick closely together as a group. This is not a leisurely paced (D1) Urban Hike and I would say it is on the very light end of a D3. If you can handle a typical D3 hike (for example at Vickery Creek) then you'll be just fine.  We'll start in the daylight and finish after dark so be sure to wear light colored clothing (reflective if you have it) and bring a flashlight with you.

We are meeting at the Roswell Mill entrance to the Vickery Creek trailhead. Detailed directions are below.

Required Items to Bring:

water, gatorade or whatever you like to keep hydrated (important)
No flip flops or shoes without a backstrap please

small flashlight

light colored clothing (with reflective material if you have it)

epi pen, inhaler if needed

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

snacks to fuel yourself
hiking poles if you dig 'em
sunscreen/bug spray according to the season and weather
appropriate clothing

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

There are a lot of ways to get to the Roswell Mill. It's at 120 and S. Atlanta Road in Roswell. Use either the physical address below or the lat/lon coordinates to get your own directions. We are meeting behind all of the shops at the Mill. Just keep going towards the water.

We are meeting at the trailhead behind the shops of Roswell Mill. It is where Hwy 9 (S. Atlanta St) and Hwy 120 (Marietta Hwy) intersect. There's a popular restaurant called Chaplin's in that shopping center. When you turn in to the shopping center (from either direction) you will be on Mill St. - Mill St dead ends in to Mill St. (thank you Roswell) and you take a right on to Mill St which will dead end in to the parking lot.
