Itinerary:

This is an excellent hike for folks who want to get into hiking for the first time, who want to simply get out and enjoy the beauty of nature and breathe some fresh air without exerting themselves, or who want to begin hiking again after an injury.  We will go at a leisurely pace, perhaps stopping to note some of the self-guided points of interest along the route which explores the watershed of Powers Branch, a tributary of the Chattahoochess River.

The "Backcountry Trail System" consists of three trails: (1) Backcountry Trail; (2) Spring Hollow Trial; (3) the Jackson Overlook Trail. These trails are for foot travel only and are easy to walk with no steep grades.

For those who have the time and want a bit more exercise, there is another hike scheduled at 11:45 at Morgan Falls, about a mile from Big Trees Preserve.  It will be a D2 - - a bit more challenging, but still not too difficult.
