Itinerary:

Madison Georgia is one of the most well preserved historic towns. Hard Labor Creek State Park is a beautiful park with rolling hills and lakes. With the fall colors both should make for a great photo hike. We'll start at Hard Labor Creek with 2 miles of hiking on the Brandley and Beaverpond nature trails. We'll then take a moderate 4.4 mile hike along one of the lakes in the park. Once we've completed the hiking portion of the event, we'll drive to Madison for a 1.5 mile photo walk through the Madison's district. We'll see many antebellum houses and historic buildings.

This will be a moderate hike event but we will be on our feet for a few hours while taking photos of Madison. Also, I've not been on the trails before so this will be an exploratory hike. The state park is well marked and there are excellent maps. There is also a map of hisotric Madison. We should be able to find our way and complete the event one time.

As a photo hike, this hike will be geared toward the hiker that wants to balance exercise with the chance to enjoy the scenery. We'll take a moderate pace and allow for breaks at scenic spots. Photographers of all levels and abilities are welcome. Please bring your point and shoot camera, SLR, or other favorite camera.
