This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Do like to check out rocks on the trail and wonder what their story is? If so, join me for a geology hike at Sweetwater Creek State Park. We will be joining other visitors of the park to listen to geologist and Friends of Sweetwater Creek Park member John Johnston. He will lead a moderate three-mile hike identifying rock types and explaining how they formed. We will explore the beautiful Jack's Branch area and the seldom visited rock quarry of New Manchester.

AOC members will meet at the visitor's center to register for the event then we will proceed as a group to the white trail. We will meet John Johston and the rest of the attendees at the geo hike parking spot. This gives the AOC hikers a couple more miles of hiking before the geo hike begins.

So this is more about actual rocks not rock n'roll but if you feel compelled to wear your favorite concert t-shirt go ahead.
