Let's enjoy the late year temps on the beautiful Chattahoochee River!

Let's paddle upstream from the Gwinnett Jones Bridge Park then turn around and paddle back down. This is a BYOB (bring your own BOAT) paddle. Also bring your own paddle and PFD. PFD is required on board by DNR and preferred on your body by the trip leader.

Upstream are Medlock Bridge (2.3 mi.) and Abbotts Bridge (5.9 mi.). We'll plan to paddle to somewhere between Medlock and Abbotts.

 This is a flat section suitable for all paddlers. There is a small shoal at the end but it can be avoided easily. We'll meet at Jones Bridge park at 1:00 and take our boats to the river, meet and greet and shove off!  One advantage to an up-and-down paddle is that you don't have to shuttle, it's a bit of a workout, AND it is downstream at the end not the beginning!.  There is no fee to park at the park.

Required Items to Bring:

Kayak or Canoe (NO inflatables on this paddle please)

Paddle, PFD (wearable flotation device/paddle jacket), beverage for hydration, clothes appropriate for the river and weather.

Recommended Items to Bring:
