Itinerary:

We will start our hike from Springer Mtn parking lot. Hike up to Springer Mtn (Southern terminus of the AT) After we spend a few minutes then we will hike back down to the BMT Trail head and start our hike. Hike about 1 1/2 miles and take a side trail to a overlook and a short break.From there we will go back to trail and continue on to Big Stamp Gap and FS42 cross road and continue about 1 mile down we will cross creek, about 1/2 mile we will cross AT and continue on. This part of trail makes a big loop and crosses the AT again we will continue to follow the White Diamond Blazes to we intersect the AT again and turn right to 3 forks where we will have lunch and if we are up to it we can hike to Long Creek Falls (about 1 mile). We will start back but this time we will follow the AT back to Stover Creek and then pass Stover Creek Shelter where we can take a visit for those that want or we can continue on for about 2 miles to parking lot.

How to Get There:

400 North to Auraria Road turn Left go about 1 block and turn right at stop sign to Bob Jenkins Road (there is a citgo service station on your left) make a left turn go to it ends and make a left turn follow Hwy 9 until it intersects with Hwy 52 make right go about 7 miles to old store and Nimbelwil Church Rdl make right go about 2 miles to FS 28-1 (if you go to church you have gone to far) Stay on FS 28-1 about 2 miles to you reach FS 77on your left  follow this road until you reach FS 42 there is a sign there pointing to Springer Mtn turn left. Parking lot will be on your right. Another alternative 400 North to Hwy 53 turn left go thru Dawsonville follow 53 and it runs into Hwy 183 which runs into Hwy 52 to Roy Rd turn right it will dead end into Doublehead Gap rd. turn right to FS 52 right turn go about 6 miles to parking lot on your left
