Itinerary:

Winter, spring, summer, or fall, Island Ford is one of the nicest hikes along the Chattahoochee.  We will hike 5 -6 miles on several trails down to the river and back again.  There will be a few hills, but nothing too strenuous. We will stop a few times for a quick water break but expect to keep a steady pace throughout the hike.  We will cover as much of the park as we can in two hours, including the Sandy Springs lollipop trail adjacent to Roberts Road.

We will meet at the main parking lot in front of the Park Headquarters and Visitor Station. If you do not have an annual CRNRA parking pass, you will need to purchase the $3 daily parking pass at the pay station in the parking lot. You may also purchase an annual pass at the Park Headquarters.  Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to take care of this. The Island Ford Visitor Station at Island Ford is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
