Itinerary:

If you haven't taken time to explore and bike Chattanooga, it's a super fun town!!!  We'll be biking and exploring at a leisurely pace, so if you are in a hurry to get back to Atlanta for Saturday evening plans, then this may not be the event for you. :)

We'll begin our ride at the base of the Chickamauga Dam. From here, we'll ride approx 8 miles into Chattanooga on a very scenic multi-use paved path called TN Riverpark.  This path parrallels the beautiful Tennesse River for most of the way. At the midpoint of our ride into Chattanooga, we'll explore the Bluff View Art District, cross over the TN river on the Walnut Street Bridge (one of the largest pedestrian only bridges in the world) and explore the North Shore Chattanooga.  If you are a kid at heart, you might even want to hop a ride on the beautifully restored 100 year old Coolidge Park Carousel.

We'll be taking a minimum 2 hour lunch break to eat, picnic, explore, and play in the North Shore area.

After lunch, we'll head back on the same path we rode in on.

Total biking mileage is 16 miles.

PLEASE NOTE

- Bike Helmet is required for this particular AOC event.

- You are responsible for your bike maintenance and/or repairs should you have any mechanical issues on the trail.

- This is an out of town event, so please do a pre-ride check (tire pressure, brakes, etc) before you leave home or meet at carpool.  We will not wait for you to do so at the start of this trip.

- The TN Riverpark is a very popular trail for walkers, joggers, baby strollers and fellow bikers. Please share the trail.

- Use proper bike etiquette.  If you need to pass, pass on the left and when you do, let folks know you are passing "On the left".  Non-bikers are very appreciative of this simple shout out.
