Itinerary:

Earth Day is fast approaching....

and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than to volunteer for a local river clean up. :-)

I'm organizing a river clean up with Lori Forrester who is with the Upper Etowah River Alliance (UERA). I'm hoping between to the two organizations, we'll be able to make a difference.

The plan is to cleanup along the banks of Little River in Woodstock via land and water.

By boat, we'll go as far upstream and downstream as we can.

By land, there's always garbage along the banks of the river heading downstream, so if you don't have a boat, we still need your help.

We'll all meet back up at the park at noon.

UERA will provide trash bags and the City of Woodstock will be providing a dumpster for us. You will need to bring gloves. Rubber kitchen gloves work best.

I'm asking all paddlers to stick around and continue our river cleanup as we paddle to Toonigh Falls. It's a mile and half downstream. We can take time to eat lunch and play while we are there.

- This is a BYOB(oat) event. No inflatables, please.

- PFD is required.

- Bring water and snacks

- If you are paddler, then bring lunch as well.

- Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty (Hiking attire works great)

Hope you can join me as we help keep this local river clean and beautiful.
