Itinerary:
We will be exploring the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area. Like Stone Mountain – Arabia Mountain is a granite monadnock nearly 400 million years old. The area has unique plant and wild life, spectacular geological formations, and interesting signs of human history. On our 4.2 mile figure eight hike we will explore the mountain, the old quarry areas, and a nearby lake. We will have a stop about half way for lunch and ‘Hiking 101’ for those who are new to hiking.

Hiking Shoes/Boots, Water (1 liter), Lunch

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From Atlanta or I-285 proceed eastbound on I-20 to exit #74 (Evans Mill Rd/Lithonia). Turn right off the ramp onto Evans Mill Rd. At the light continue straight onto Woodrow Drive. DO NOT TURN RIGHT! Travel on Woodrow Drive 1 mile to stop sign. Turn right onto Klondike Road and travel approximately 1 mile. You will cross Rockland Road. Continue 1 more mile to the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area SOUTH parking lot on your left

We will have a brief 'Hiking 101' for those new to hiking.
