Itinerary:

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Heart disease is the leading cause of death for women in the United States, killing 292,188 women in 2009—that’s 1 in every 4 female deaths.  To kick off the February's "2013 Go Red for Heart Women" and get ready for March's - "2013 National Nutrition Month" I am posting "Wellness Trekking" events for February and March. As a clinician and long time advocate for preventive health, I am inviting beginners to participate in these events. Please wear something RED in support for this Cause.

The first 10 minutes of this trek will be a warm up which involves a slow ascent. I will walk next to you to give you that boost for success. I want you to feel enthused to aim at reaching to the top without feeling the pressure of how fast you get there. Let me help you build up your endurance as you go.  We will take time to allow you to keep up with the pace. This hike is for your wellness and well-being, not a contest for speed trek.

We will make stops at designated points to allow everyone to rest; then proceed to the top where we will take 20 minutes to enjoy the view and eat lunch. By the same token, you will be treated to a session on "Prevention of Heart Disease & Nutrition ABC." From there, we will descend towards the Tribble Gap facility entrance to take a short bathroom break. We will then proceed to the lower side trail to recoup your pace and ready for cool down to return to our cars by 12Noon.
