Itinerary:

Join us for a leisurely hike up Kennesaw Mountain, and bring your best friend.

We’ll meet in front of the Visitor’s Center at Kennesaw Mountain. The parking lot tends to fill up fast on nice weekend days, so you may want to give yourself an extra 5 or 10 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the Center.

Our hike will begin behind the Visitor’s Center, and we’ll hike on to and then around the CCC loop (it’s mostly flat with some slight inclines). On the return, we’ll head off to the left, and up the mountain. Yes, it’s steep. Really steep in some parts. But it’s only about a mile up, and we’re not out to set any speed records today. In fact, I’m hoping we can find some mushrooms or other cool “nature stuff” along the way to identify and take pictures of. Feel free to share your knowledge!

Once we get to the top, we'll take time to relax, snack, enjoy the views, and take pictures.

If you want to bring your dog, please be sure that your dog is well-socialized and under your control at all times. NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES! Multiple people = retractable leashes usually ends up with someone getting leashburns, so be sure to use some other type of lead. Your dog will need to be on lead at all times. Pretty sure this is a park rule, too. Bring bags; you are responsible for cleaning up any messes your pet makes. We'll limit this to 8 dogs total. (I'm bringing one dog).

Total distance is only 3-4 miles, and it’ll probably take about an hour and a half, maybe two if we find a lot of cool stuff to look at along the way.

See you Sunday!
