Itinerary:

Welcome to #6 of my *You Can Do It* series of hikes!  These hikes are designed especially for folks who are new to hiking OR to the hike location.  They'll go no faster than a moderate pace and we will pause to take pictures when the opportunity arises.  This is an awesome hike if you are just getting into hiking or are new to the AOC.

Cochran Mill

This time we’ll be hiking some of the trails of Cochran Mill Park.  After meeting promptly at 9:00 AM in the parking lot at the Cochran Mill Parking area, we’ll have a fun hike on the trails alongside Bear Creek and Little Bear Creek - these trails include some nice waterfalls, a few man-made dams, and lovely woods.  We'll decide if we want a creek crossing at the end of our hike - but if not, it is not too long a detour around the creek back to our cars.

Before we leave from our hike, we'll pause for a quick break at the Nature Center which has bathrooms located inside.  Although they do not charge for the use of their bathrooms - a small donation would still be nice as this is a non-profit center.  We may also all decide to visit the wonderful animal exhibits for which they only charge $3.00 (a really great value).

(Optional) Cupcakes!

We have now earned our lunch and cupcakes!  We'll have a short drive of only 7 miles over to the Blue Eyed Daisy Bakery in Serenbe GA.  The Blue Eyed Daisy Bakery won an episode of Cupcake Wars but you'll also find they have a great lunch menu as well. After the hike, it is optional if you would like to join us for some cupcakes, but I do hope you can come along for our well-earned lunch and tasty desserts.

Required Items to Bring:

Appropriate clothing for weather

Appropriate walking/hiking shoes.

Plenty of fluid for adequate hydration

The Cochran Mill Nature Center only costs $3.00 to view the live animal exhibits and is well worth the small amount.

You'll need to bring money for lunch/cupcake(s) at the Blue Eyed Daisy
