Day 2: Arrive at Ministro Pistarini (Ezeiza) International Airport in Buenos Aires. (Airport code: EZE.) Take shuttle bus to Aeroparque (AEP),  where our domestic flight to San Carlos de Bariloche (BRC). departs. Note: there are a few flights directly from EZE to BRC.  Meet with our local organizer. Pay for the event. Travel to El Bolson (about 130 km), and from there to Refugio Piltriquitron (1500 m), where we will spend the night. The trip to the refugio involves a 45 minute hike. There is a nice view of the town below. If we arrive early enough we could attempt to summit Cerro Piltriquitron (2260 m), an easy climb. This and the other refugios are fully staffed cabins with cots, where our meals will be served.

Day 3: After a one hour drive, we hike the trail to Refugio Hielo Azul (1350 m), where we will spend the night. Hiking time: 6 hours.

Day 4: We spend the day exploring the area. Depending on weather conditions we may climb Hielo Azul (2250 m), or at least climb up to the glacier.

Day 5. Hike to Laguna Natacion, where we may go for a swim. After that we will hike down 4 or 5 hours to Cajon del Azul and spend the night in a nearby shelter (showers available).

Day 6: Hike to Refugio Los Laguitos (5-6 hours), where we will spend the night.

Day7: Hike back to Cajon del Azul and from there back to the trailhead along a different route. Hiking time: around 8 hours. From the trailhead we will drive back to San Carlos de Bariloche, where we will spend the night in a Youth Hostel.

Day 8: Return to the US.
