Itinerary:

We'll keep a moderately brisk pace for this hike at Island Ford.  We'll start at the Upper Lot, just inside the entrance gate on the left - - NOT at the Visitor's Center.  There will not be any restroom facilities available, as the park office closes at 5 pm.  However, there are lots of trees available around the parking lot.

Much of this trail is relatively flat, though the lollipop loop presents some invigorating ascents.  Because of the speed and areas of elevation change, it is not a hike for beginners.

If you bring your dog, it should be able to keep up with the group and interact well with other dogs and people. The Chattahoochee NRA requires that owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after their pets on the trails.

Please be reminded that this area requires a $3 (cash) parking pass if you don't already own an annual pass.  No change is available.  We will start the hike promptly at 6:30! Be sure to allow time for heavy traffic.
