Itinerary:

If we get enough people, we will be off on a early color tour and a great circular 3 mile hike to Whiteside Mountain and the spectacular mountain views from 180 degrees around the top and back of the mountain. We're leaving a tad earlier for this one because the parking is limited at Whiteside. After enjoying the views, we'll make our way down the moderate slopes to the Devils Courthouse on the side of the Mountain, and its great views across the valley.

On the way back, about a mile south of Highlands, is the road to Glen Falls, that leads to 2 trails from the same trailhead and parking area. One about a mile down the steep slopes of the East Fork of Overflow Creek and 3 very nice waterfalls on this beautiful creek, before the steep walk up and back to the moderate trail up Chinquapin Mtn., and its several viewing points, which we will check out in their entirety. The total of all three hikes is a about seven miles. The colors in western-North Carolina have begun to change and hopefully will be settled in nicely by this weekend.

On the way back, those that want can stop and dine at a generous and low cost Chinese buffet at the Peking Garden in Clayton, GA.
