Itinerary:

Remember the movie Driving Miss Daisy?  Filmed in Atlanta, it was released in 1989 and starred Morgan Freeman, Jessica Tandy and Dan Aykroyd.  The movie won 4 Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Thanks to Stan for designing our hike we will hike past the house used in the film for  Miss Daisy's home.  This walk will commence at the empty fountain in front of the old Everybody's Pizza which fronts on the new roundabout at Emory Village (directly in front of the main entrance to Emory University).  The Slice & Pint, a neighborhood pizza pub, is scheduled to open in the old Everybody's Pizza location this summer so there may be construction for the new restaurant.  Improvements are also being made to the surrounding area so the view may look different than the picture here.

Street parking is limited but available along Oxford Rd to the NW from the roundabout.  Please allow extra time for traffic and additional time to find a parking spot.

Store Front 2

Improvements are being made to the area so the landscape may not look like this photo.

From there we will pass the Fernbank Science Center, continue around the perimeter of Fernbank Forest/Druid Hills Golf Club in a counter clockwise direction, past the Fernbank Museum on the west side of the forest, then westward past the Haunted Heinz Mansion on Ponce, then northward along Lullwater Rd and past Miss Daisy's house (from the movie), making our way back to the point of origin.

Optional dinner afterwards tbd by popular vote.
