Itinerary:
I'm delighted to have Marion, trip leader in training, join me as co-lead for this invigorating hike through Island Ford. We'll go rather fast on this one, covering over 5 miles in two hours. No dogs on this event, just to keep things simple. We'll meet at the Visitor's Center parking lot, make our way to the lollipop trail, then return via the river trail. Because of the pace and the occasional ascents, this is not a hike to join if you haven't already done some d3's. Please arrive several minutes early to pay for your $3 parking pass and to meet the other hikers. We will begin the hike promptly at 6:30 PM. Note: The Visitor's Center is 1/2 mile from the entrance. Keep driving until you dead-end at the big building.
