Itinerary:

Join us for a fun hike in the CNRA Cochran Shoals Unit.  We will follow several trails throughout the park and take in the great scenery that this area provides.

We will hike approximately 5.5 miles and follow some of the steeper trails but the elevation gain will be less than 400 feet making this hike a nice D2.  Sunset is at 8.45pm so we will be returning as the sun lowers on the horizion.

Your trip leaders will be carrying 20lb packs so we will be going at a steady pace. 

Please bring $3 for parking if you do not have a CNRA Pass.

You're welcome to bring your dog but please follow the rules. The Chattahoochee NRA requires that owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after their pets on the trails. Please cooperate with the posted rules. Dogs MUST be on leash at all times for this event.

 2080 W. Interstate Hwy N Pkwy., Marietta, GA, 30339

The parking lot entrance is between Powers Ferry Road and Northside Drive, along Interstate North - - with I-285 paralleling Interstate North within eyeshot of the parking lot.

From eastbound Interstate 285

  • Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
  • Go to second traffic light and go left onto New Northside Drive.
  • Use “through” lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
  • Unit will be immediately on the right after crossing the Chattahoochee.

From westbound Interstate  285

  • Take exit 22, Northside Drive, New Northside Drive, Powers Ferry Road.
  • Right on New Northside Drive.
  • Use “through” lane to pick up Interstate North Parkway.
  • Unit will be immediately on the right after crossing the Chattahoochee.

If you're on Powers Ferry Road heading south, turn LEFT just before going under 285.  The lot will be on your
 left before you cross the river.

There's a bathroom facility at this parking lot.  :-)
