Itinerary:

Join Libby and Joyce at Island Ford, one of the most popular CNRA units along the river.

We'll go rather fast on this one, covering over 5 miles in two hours with infrequents stops for water.

We'll meet at the Visitor's Center parking lot.  The Visitor's Center closes at 5 pm, so no restroom facilities will be available. We'll make our way to the lollipop trail, then return via the river trail. Because of the pace and the occasional ascents, this is not a hike to join if you haven't already done some challenging D2's.

Please arrive several minutes early to pay for your $3 parking pass and to meet the other hikers. There are no attendants to give change, so you should have $3 in cash to place in the payment envelope. We will begin the hike promptly at 6:30 PM. Note: The Visitor's Center parking lot is over 1/2 mile from the entrance. Keep driving until you dead-end at the big building.

We'll allow three folks with dogs on the hike.  Please do not add your dog if three other dog owners have alreadyy registered their pups.  Dogs must be kept on leash at all CNRA units - - it's the law!  Besides - - dogs off leash create a hazard for hikers.
