Itinerary:

Iron Hill trail at Red Top Mountain is a beautiful trail that mostly follows the shores of Lake Allatoona, so there will be plenty of awesome scenery and many photo opportunities. If you want to join us afterwards, we're going to have dinner at Swheats - more info below.

Iron Hill Trail is a fairly flat 4 mile trail and an excellent hike for an advanced beginner. This hike will leave from the Iron Hill Trail parking lot (not the Visitor's Center, but just down the street) and is the blue trail on the map below.

You can view a trail map here: http://www.redtopmountainstatepark.org/resources/red-top-mountain-state- park-trail-map.pdf

If you don't have a Georgia State Park Pass, there is a $5.00 per car fee. Be sure to bring exact change because it is the honor system/envelope type.

Please arrive a few minutes before the hike is scheduled to begin so you have enough time to pay for your parking and check in with us for introductions. We will depart on time.

There are no restrooms at this trailhead. You can stop at the Visitors Center on your way in (it's mentioned in the directions below).

Come join us for the optional dinner at Swheat. It's an 8 mile drive from the park. It's been the best place I've found and all of my AOC friends have loved it. It's a little local place that has good reviews and serves sandwiches, soups and salads. Their food is fantastic and healthy. Each and every time we come here everyone loves the food and atmosphere. Some folks from the night hike may meet us there as well.
