Itinerary:

The Cherokee Trail, which circumnavigates Stone Mountain, is a nice, wooded trail with lake views.  We will enjoy the tranquility of this trail, and work in two climbs to the top of the mountain to supplement our work-out. We will keep a good pace, with only a few rest stops. Total distance of the hike is approximately 9 miles.

We will meet beside the restrooms at the back of the big parking lot beside Confederate Hall (where people climbing the mountain normally start).

There is a $10 parking fee to enter the park. However, free public parking is available in Stone Mountain Village. If you choose this option, you will need to allow plenty of time to walk to the park.

Required Items to Bring:

• Good shoes (remember, we will walk on both dirt and exposed granite. A few places might be a bit muddy).
• Fluid for adequate hydration.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

• Camera
* Hiking poles
* Snacks

How to Get There:
Event Directions:
