Itinerary:

Sweetwater State Conservation Park is one of the treasures to be found near metro Atlanta. This park offers beauty and wildlife viewing for visitors all year long in addition to some Civil War history. The park sets atop the Brevard Fault which makes the terrain steeper than the surrounding areas. The creek itself offers many scenic spots as it tumbles over the shoals and the natural dam nearby.

We're starting this event early, in order to minimize our exposure to the 90 plus degrees temparatures. Please plan to arrive a little before the starting time. We are going to start on the white trail, then hike to the red, the blue, and finally the yellow trail. There will be a short break at the visitor's center before we start the yellow trail.

Note: there is a $5 per vehicle parking fee, if you do not have a GA state parks parking permit. No carpool for this event.

Dogs are welcome but need to be on a 6 foot leash.

Thanks to Nancy L and Melissa for the original write-up for this event.
