Itinerary:

Please join Eva and me on a brisk hike around Island Ford followed by Mediterranean food! The hike will be on the faster paced side and it definitely is not a beginner hike. We'll cover about 5 miles in short order. Then if you would like, come join us for some Mediterranean food afterwards. These hike and eats have been really popular and I'm trying to find non-chain and different types of restaurants to try. I also want them to have great reviews. If you know of any cool places and you would like to do a hike and eat, please let me know.

Samad Mediterranean is right around the corner for Island Ford. They have great Yelp reviews.

We are parking at the Visitor's Center which is all the way back. The Visitor's Center closes at 5pm so there will be no restrooms available.

You're welcome to bring your dog but please follow the rules. The Chattahoochee NRA requires that owners keep their dogs on a leash and clean up after their pets on the trails. Please cooperate with the posted rules. Dogs MUST be on leash at all times for this event. And also, please don't bring your dog if you plan to leave him/her in the car for dinner. I (Lauren) can't bear to think of a dog in a hot car.

We will start on time, so please arrive 5-10 minutes early to check in.

This park requires a $3 parking fee, so if you don't have an annual pass, be sure to bring $3 cash.
