The 2013 AOC Officers and Member Ambassadors would like to invite our newer members out to meet some of us. This is a great opportunity to come out and see what the AOC is all about. The most noteworthy feedback we received from our previous "Meet the Officers" newcomers hike was that new members liked coming out because they knew they weren't going to be the only brand new person there. We are there to meet you, give you some tips about AOC and answer any questions you have.

We'll enjoy a short 4 mile hike around Vickery Creek at a leisurely pace.

While we certainly love spending time with our experienced hikers, we will use the following method to assist our newer members in reserving a spot on this newcomer hike: We will open registration immediately and close it about a week before the hike. All registrants will automatically be placed on the waiting list (this is on purpose). The weekend before the hike, the top 18 people with very few events will be moved to the confirmed list. We will send a confirmation email to notify those who make the list. Of course, if new members do not fill up the slots, we will welcome our established members!

We are meeting at the Roswell Mill entrance to the Vickery Creek trailhead and parking is free. Detailed directions are below.

Required Items to Bring:

water, gatorade or whatever you like to keep hydrated (important)
No flip flops or shoes without a backstrap please

You will be just fine with tennis shoes - especially if it hasn't rained lately

How to Get There:

There are a lot of ways to get to the Roswell Mill. It's at 120 and S. Atlanta Road in Roswell. Use either the physical address below or the lat/lon coordinates to get your own directions. We are meeting behind all of the shops at the Mill. Just keep going towards the water.

We are meeting at the trailhead behind the shops of Roswell Mill. It is where Hwy 9 (S. Atlanta St) and Hwy 120 (Marietta Hwy) intersect. There's a popular restaurant called Chaplin's in that shopping center. When you turn in to the shopping center (from either direction) you will be on Mill St. - Mill St dead ends in to Mill St. (thank you Roswell) and you take a right on to Mill St which will dead end in to the parking lot.
