Itinerary:
***TIME CHANGE*** Usually this trail has a serious water crossing, which can be dangerous, but thanks to the drought, we can ride this trail and not get swept downstream. Come join us, there will be a long (17 mile) & short trail (11 mile) option. The long option has an out and back that bumps the total an additional six miles. Both the long trail and short have overlooks, however the short trail has the awesome overlook that supersedes Ft. Mountain’s wonderful viewpoint! The leaves are beautiful. This is a photo op type of trail. TIPS One highly suggested item to bring: water shoes. We must cross the river and it is cold. It is not deep but the river is wide. You won’t die crossing the river but may be uncomfortable! -Dry county

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Because of construction on 75 in north Cobb County - please be sure to leave with plenty of time to get there. Directions: I-75 N to exit 293 (Hwy 411 Chatsworth) Go right off the exit for roughly 52 miles. Watch your speed in White especially (after leaving 75 and entering 411). Or take 75 north to exit 333 and head east towards Ft. Mountain/Chatsworth Court House. Once you are at the corner of the Chatsworth Court House on 411 and Hwy52 (the one that you would take to Ft. Mountain and Bear Creek/Pinhotti), continue north on 411 about 15 or so miles until you see a brown sign for the Sumac Creek Shooting Range. It will also say Old GA Hwy 2, there is no street sign but there is a St Clares gas station on the left, and a Cisco Baptist Church on the right. Go right. Travel 7 more miles, on gravel and paved roads that alternate. You’ll also pass about four churches. Continue to follow the signs to the Jacks River Trail & Cottonwood Patch. For the most part, continue to go straight, but if you see a “Y” in the road, stay on Old GA2 or to the left at the “Y”. Near the end of the 7 miles, you’ll see a sign for the Cottonwood Patch (on the left), DO NOT PARK HERE. Go another ¼ mile and at the “T” you’ll see a bathroom and brown signs for the Cohutta WMA and Jack’s River Falls. Park at the Jack’s River Trail. Look for other bikers.

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $70.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.
