Itinerary:

The plan is to meet at 6:45 PM in front of the restrooms near Confederate Hall.  After introductions, we will hop on our bikes at 7:00 SHARP and make a loop around the moutain.  For those who wish to have a little extra fun, we will take the bridge over to a small island for some easy trail riding. Hybrids and mountain bikes highly recommended for this portion of the ride.

This will not be a fast ride, but we will keep moving in order to get back to the main parking lot by 8:00 PM. Be prepared for a few challenging hills near the end of the ride.

Upon returning to our starting point, we give people a few minutes to lock up the bikes. The hike to the top is optional, but partly cloudy skies could make for a great sunset.

We will then take the path through the woods to the top.  Shoes with good traction are highly recommended for this portion of the event as we will climb the very steep portion of the mountain along the fence.

Once on top, we will relax and enjoy the sunset at 8:39 PM, before heading back down the mountain in semi-darkness. We will be walking down after sunset, so please bring a small flashlight or headlamp if you don't have good night vision.  Those who don't care to walk through the woods are free to take the main trail back down.

Although the current forecast for Tuesday evening looks great, the hike portion of this event will be cancelled if we get buckets of rain before the hike.

Free parking is available at MARTA PARK n RIDE parking lot. From there, it is less than a half mile walk to the west gate park entrance near our meeting spot.

Please take the time to look at the park map and your parking options in order to be on time.
