Itinerary:
Beginner Advanced (Class II)

The Etowah River offers paddlers more challenging rapids, great scenery, good fishing, and a short portage around the 10 foot drop of spectacular Etowah Falls. Beautiful Mountain Laurel and Rhododendrons grace the banks of this small, fast moving stream that keeps your interest up around every bend. We recommend previous canoeing or Kayaking experience to fully enjoy the shoals on this moderately challenging trip. The Etowah is best in the spring and early summer, the water levels are higher and numerous wildflowers are in bloom. Etowah Falls makes an awesome picnic site!

We will be canoeing 8 miles ( about 3 ½ hours). Highlights include numerous rapids, rock outcroppings, Etowah Falls, and lots of wildflowers!
