Come join us again in the beautiful Smoky Mountains for a weekend of fun in the snow at Cataloochee Ski Area in Maggie Valley, NC. Skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels will find plenty of trails to suit their style in 50 acres of skiable terrain.
While at the ski area, our group will have an assigned area in the group building to hang out, meet up, store your stuff, and eat lunch together. You can bring a lunch with you or purchase it from the cafeteria in the lodge. For those wanting lessons, free beginner lessons are included with the equipment rental packages. Other level lessons are available at a discounted rate.
Accommodations will be at the Comfort Inn Maggie Valley, only 10 minutes from the ski area. Rooms have 2 queen beds, fridge & microwave, free high speed internet, indoor pool & spa, and free deluxe continental breakfast. Rooms are double occupancy and roommates will be assigned unless otherwise requested by registration cutoff.
Group Management: Due to the nature of this kind of event, it is unlikely that all of us will remain together for the entire duration of the trip. As such your trip leaders will be relying on each car load to keep up with its members. Head counts may be taken at times, but we ask for your assistance. Pursuant to this, your Trip Leaders reserve the right to consider any registrant’s social history within the AOC as a factor in making a determination as to whether the registrant is an appropriate candidate for this event.
More detailed itinerary and instructions will be provided after the Registration Cutoff. Please note that Cataloochee has been known to open 30 minutes early on Holiday Weekends. Your trip leaders will keep you aware of any changes, but please be prepared to shift the hotel departure times back 30 minutes to 7:00 and 7:30 respectively. Additionally your trip leaders will be contacting you asking for specific information once payment is received.

Please Note: The Default Pament Due is for Lodging, Lift Ticket, and Ski or Snowboard Rental. Your amount may be different depending upon your selection. If your amount is different, you will need to edit the "Amount to Pay" field shown in the payment window under the Paypal link.

We need payment as soon as possible in order to secure lift ticket and hotel reservations. If you don't pay within one week of registering, you will be moved from the attending list to the waiting list.
|How to Get There:|
Directions will be handed out to drivers at the carpool location. Directions furnished by GPS units ARE NOT ACCURATE and send you on an unpassable route to the mountain. Google Maps, however, is accurate. You will be heading north and the drive typically takes 2.5 to 3 hours not counting the dinner stop.

|Carpool Cost:||Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $144.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.|

Important information for paid events in which payment is managed through the AOC:
- Payment must be received by the payment due date and prior to participation in the event.
- Some paid events require a minimum number of registered participants. If that number is not met, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued to those who have already paid.
- Third-party vendors often require damage deposits. Each registrant agrees to be liable for and required to reimburse the Atlanta Outdoor Club for any withheld deposits due to the actions of or damages caused by that registrant.
- No partial payments. All registrants must pay the posted Member Cost regardless of any agreement you may have with any party involved in the event.
- Read the event description carefully for additional information, and contact the trip leader(s) with any questions.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance: Please review the AOC cancellation policy.
If you cancel on or before December 17th by 12:34pm, full payment is refundable less a $9 AOC administrative fee.
If you cancel after December 17th by 12:34pm, there will be NO refund unless someone from the waitlist replaces you and pays in full. At that time, you would receive refund less a $9 administrative fee.
Event is rain or shine however the trip leaders may cancel if extreme weather conditions are forecast. We will do everything we can to avoid this, but should we be forced to cancel (highly unlikely as your trip leaders don't run from weather), you will receive a refund less a $39.50 fee for those staying in the hotel (this fee is the amount charged by the hotel for cancellations after the deadline).
