After about 6.7 miles you will see an entrance to Callaway Gardens on your right. At that point, GA 18 transitions into GA 354. Continue straight on GA 354 (crossing US27 in the process) about 4 miles, until you get to GA 190 at a stone bridge. Turn left onto GA 190 and proceed about 5.4 miles. Turn right onto a paved road (watch for a sign showing a picnic table). Dowdellís Knob parking lot is 1.3 miles at the end of this road.|

|Carpool Cost:||Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $60.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.|
FDR State Park, at 10,000 acres, is Georgiaís largest state park.
It is deeply rooted in the historical era of four-time president
Roosevelt. Seeking a place for treatment after being stricken
with polio in 1921, Roosevelt traveled to nearby Warm Springs
and built his Little White House. Dowdellís Knob was FDRís
favorite picnic spot, overlooking a magnificent view of the valley
below. FDRís grill was preserved, and can still be seen.
