The trail starts near the parking lot and proceeds for about half a mile around the park until it crosses some railroad tracks, and then an old bridge. We will then walk on parts of the white red and blue trails to form a loop inside a pine forest, between two creeks. Along the way we will see the ruins of the old Decatur waterworks, which were abandoned in the 1940's. After crossing the railroad tracks again, we will return to the parking lot the same way we came.

Required Items to Bring:
Water and good walking shoes.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:From the intersection of North Druid Hills Rd. and Clairmont Rd. drive 0.3 miles south (i.e. towards downtown) on Clairmont Rd. Turn left on Mc Connell Drive and proceed about 0.1 mile to a stop sign. At the stop sign turn right. Pass a building to your left and turn left at the "Mason Mill Park" sign into the parking lot.

This event is designed for people with little hiking experience and moderate cardiovascular conditioning. The trail is for the most part shady, and the ground is not rocky.
