Itinerary:

What is 3D in 1D - Well it is 3 hikes of varying intensities ranging from a D3 to a D1 in 1 Day at a single location. The first one is going to be at Island Ford. Are you up for the challenge?

Each of the 3 hikes are posted as separate events with an hour's gap between them. You have an option of joining one, two or all three hikes, the choice is yours. Remember to sign up individually for each hike.

This one is Part 3 - a D1, the last for the day. We will keep an easy pace for about 3.5 to 4 miles, stopping ocassioally to regroup or to click some pictures. We'll take a couple of hills to get a little bit of a workout. So if you are a beginner trying to start some hiking in the woods, or if you are recovering from injuries, this one will be perfect for you. Faster hikers please be aware of this before you sign up. The speed will be around 2.3 mph to 2.5 mph.

We will meet at the first parking lot NOT at the visitor center. Restrooms are available at the visitor center, so please plan for an additional few minutes if you'd like to use them before we start. You will need $3 cash for a daily pass if you do not have an annual pass. If you'd like to purchase an annual pass then you may obtain one from the visitor center.
