Itinerary:

Most have hiked Rocky and Tray, so let’s spice it up a bit with a Fitness Hike / Trail Run and you can burn off some of that Thanksgiving overindulgence. This event is for those who have hiked Tray and Rocky and know it well, there may be some small separation between participants given the pace. My plan is to keep at or a little above a 4 mph moving average so I will be briskly hiking the hills, and jogging the down hills. Anyone signing up should be able to maintain at least a 3mph overall average speed to complete this event in 3 hours and 30 minutes. The path out to the top of Tray takes us up and over Rocky, down to Indian Grave Gap, then up to Tray Gap before the final push to the top of Tray. I will wait at the top of tray for the last person to arrive (if that person is not already me) before turning back to do it all over in reverse. Overall there will be between just over 10 miles of trail. Runners please remember that while I may at times refer to them as hills these are mountains and everything you cross on the way out you have to climb on the return trip. We will have an elevation gain of around 3500 feet on this event. With that being said, if you do not have a strong recent hiking (multiple D5s and D6s) or trail running history this event is probably not for you.

Anyone interested may join me for a meal on the way back to town.
