Cheatham Hill to Kolb Farm Trails Loop 5 mil loop

Come join me on this historic hike at Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Sunday afternoon.

This section traces a path across the Cheatham Hill Battlefield and through woods where Union troops once waited to assault the Rebel defenses. It descends across John Ward Creek before winding across forests and meadows to Powder Springs Road near the Kolb Farm, site of vicious fighting on June 22, 1864. The path then meanders through forests and shallow creek valleys on a return to the eastern side of Cheatham Hill.

It is kind of chilly outside but beautiful fall colors. Come hike with me today!

NEW DIRECTIONS:

Here are the new directions.

From Marietta Square:

Take Whitlock Road west from downtown Marietta. This road becomes the Dallas Highway. You will take a left on John Ward Rd. Go about half a mile and take a left on Cheatham Hill Rd. The parking lot will be .5 mile on your right.

From Barrett Parkway:

From 75N get off Barrett Pkwy exit and take a left. Go about 10 miles till you get to Dallas Highway and take a left. Go about .5 miles and take a right on John Ward Rd. Go about .5 miles and take a left on Cheatham Hill Rd. The parking lot will be .5 mile on right

MAKE SURE AND MEET AT LARGE PARKING LOT OFF OFF CHEATHAM HILL DRIVE LOCATED CLOSED TO THE INTERSECTION OF JOHN WARD AND CHEATHAM HILL RD.
