Itinerary:

Join us for the Owl Prowl, hosted by the Chattahoochee Education Center. This is a family event, and those members who have well-behaved children are welcome to bring them, but you MUST include them in your RSVP. If you don’t have well-behaved children and bring them anyway, they will be detained for trail maintenance. Not really, but it’s something we can look into.

So, let’s participate in this community event and enjoy roasting marshmallows around the campfire; stories and songs; children’s crafts in the lodge; and the nocturnal sights, sounds, and beauty of the Chattahoochee on a ranger guided night hike. Meet owls and other raptors. Learn fascinating facts and fables about the owls of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Live owl programs courtesy of the Chattahoochee Nature Center, a National Park Service partner. Wear layers of warm, comfortable outdoor clothes and shoes suitable for walking on a forest trail. A scarf, hat, and gloves will be a good idea. Don’t forget your headlamp. “Ranger Recipe” hot apple cider and coffee will be offered, but remember, this is a family event and the beverages will be limited to zero proof.

The Owl Prowl will be presented at the Chattahoochee River Environmental Education Center; 8615 Barnwell Road; Johns Creek, Georgia 30022. This event is free, but donations will be accepted. Support Wildlife education! Teach an owl how to read. Or, just donate if you can so that the center may continue to offer these fun and educational programs for anyone who wants to learn.

After the guided hike for those interested, (21 & over only, please) we’ll enjoy margaritas and Mexican food.
