Itinerary:

Arkaquah is one of my all time favorite hikes whether winter, spring, summer, or fall. It's also a GREAT training hike.

I'm posting this for advanced hikers only.  Hilke and I are in training and we would like folks that either can keep our pace or if you are super fast hiker, then feel free to hike past us.  You should have some recent D5 events in your hiking history in order to join us.

Expect to keep a minimum of a 3 mph to a 3.5 mph pace.

About the hike...

We'll start out at Trackrock Gap (2280 ft) and immediately start our sharp uphill climb (1500 ft ascent) to Buzzard Roost Ridge.  Once we reach the ridge at 1.7 miles, we'll hike east to Brasstown Bald (4738 ft).  Overall gain is 2,504
feet in elevation from the gap to the summit of
Brasstown Bald.

Notes:

Please note:
Some folks sign up for no-dog hikes, but you should know that I (Paula) will be bringing my boston terrier (Princess Charlie). He's a bit socially challenged around other dogs right now, so I'm not allowing other dogs on this particular event.
