This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, there is an increased chance of things not going as planned and you need to be prepared. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.

Itinerary:

Elachee is a name derived from the Cherokee language meaning "new green earth." Come and join a Sunday morning hike at Elachee Nature Science Center, one of the premier environmental education centers in Georgia.

Located in the 1,500-acre Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve in North Georgia, Elachee has almost three decades of building environmental literacy for Georgians through quality educational experiences, museum exhibitions, special programs, and resources for schools and the general public.

I have never been to Elachee, but a fellow hiker has offered to guide us around the 5 mile loop along the different trails: East Lake, Mathis, Dunlap, West Lake, and Pine Grove.

We will meet outside the Nature Center.
