Ever wanted to learn how to Curl? Well, here's your chance!

Join me for a 2-hour Open-House event at the Marietta Ice Center and experience Curling for yourself! You think it's easy, huh? Yes, we all watched the Olympics....anyone can do it, right? Yeah...uh huh.

Think again! Curling requires a lot of skill and coordination and balance. If you have really bad knees or a bad back, I don't recommend signing up for this.

On April 5 from 6:30-8:30 pm, The ATL Curling Club is hosting a "Learn to Curl" on half the sheets, and pick-up curling on the other half. This "Learn to Curl" event is perfect for you if you have never curled before. They will start the class with a brief off-ice introduction and safety review. Then you'll move to the ice where your instructors will teach the basics of curling, including throwing a stone and sweeping. After about one hour you'll be ready to play a short game under the guidance of your instructors. After two hours you'll be fully prepared to play real games in pick-up curling or league curling events. They will provide brooms, sliders, grippers, stones, everything.

Cost of the Learn to Curl is $20/person. To sign up, simply follow these steps:

1. Go to http://www.atlcurling.org/login.php and Register (create a profile)

2. Once you've created a profile go the Events Tab http://www.atlcurling.org/eventstatus.php

3. Select "Learn to Curl F4 - Sat Apr 5, 2014" Select how many slots you wish to reserve and click SUBMIT on the botton of the page. READ their Cancellation Policy (which is below). You will need to PayPal Account to pay, I recommend you sign up ASAP...slots fill up FAST. This is the last Open House Event they are hosting for the season.

4. Please email me / msg me once you've done this so I know.

Required Items to Bring:

Shoes with good gripping soles. (Tennis shoes are good)
Long pants, long sleeve shirt (it's cold, we're on ice)
An adventurous attitude!

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Skull cap or something to keep head warm
Light-weight gloves (again, we are on ice...it's chilly)
Knee pads (if you have a knee problem)

From GA400 North or South, take the Abernathy Exit and go WEST
Abernathy becomes Johnson Ferry Road
Turn RIGHT onto Lower Roswell Road
At the first light, VEER RIGHT onto Davidson Road.
After 200 feet, turn right into parking lot.
The Marietta Ice Center is tucked in BEHIND the Kroger Shopping Center (Large Building, sign in the front)

Notes:

The Atlanta Curling Club will require you to sign a waiver, which may be downloaded from their website.

We may meet beforehand nearby to grab a bite to eat. I will send out an email.

* We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines while participating in AOC events.

All sales should be considered final. Once you have completed your purchase, if you release your reservations the purchase price will only be refunded if the reservations are purchased again by another user. Your funds will not be reimbursed immediately and may not be refunded at all if no other users purchase reservations for that event.
