Itinerary:

Hello, West Cobb County!

Green Meadows Preserve is both a community garden and an Eastern Bluebird nesting area dedicated to regrowing the at-risk Blue Bird population. Twenty-five Blue Bird nest boxes have been sponsored and placed along the 2.3 mile trail within the 112 acres of open pasture, meadows and trees.

This will be an excellent hike for beginners, as the trails are grassy and soft throughout the preserve, and the pace will be leisurely.

We'll pass the community garden where folks rent space to grow flowers and vegetables. We'll also see a close-by honey-bee nesting area - - perfect for polinating the plants in the garden.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

The preserve is on the corner of Dallas Highway and Casteel/Old Hamilton Road, Marietta, just on your right as you travel west through the intersection. The physical address is 3780 Dallas Highway, though my GPS took me about 1/4 mile past the preserve!  The on the NW corner of the intersection;  look for the white, wood-frame house (used by the Garden Club) and park in the lot in front of the house.  We'll meet there.
