Itinerary:

Hope you can join Joyce and me on the 2nd of our two hikes for the day!  After our morning hike at Garland Mountain, we'll drive just 6 short miles over to Pine Log Creek Trail. There is plenty of free parking, lots of elevation changes, beautiful views, and a quarry pond with interesting rock outcroppings to climb on for photos!

The trail features a 4.7 mile path crossing seven rustic footbridges over Pine Log Creek. From two overlooks, hikers can view Pine Log Mountain - one of the highest elevations in Bartow County's Appalachian foothills - and the site of the Pine Log Cherokee Indian Village. The trail system includes two loops east and west and is rated moderate. Although some of the terrain is rugged there is only one significantly long climb, with an elevation gain of about 420 feet. That is not to say it's an easy hike, but we'll be taking hiking this time at a moderate pace, so if you can go the distance on hills, you should be able to handle it. The eastern loop takes hikers by an early CCC quarry pond for picturesque views.

It is NOT required for you to sign up for both hikes, but combined, they'll be a wonderful way to spend a Saturday!
