Itinerary:

Let's get in a hike before all the weekend fun begins. Gold Branch would be the perfect place to do just that! It has beautiful views of the Bull Sluice Lake for some calm and serenity, some hills to get our hearts pumping and some flat trails in between to catch our breaths and talk to our fellow hikers.

With spring in the air, the woods are alive! If we are lucky we will spot some deer, (or maybe they will be gracious enough to dart across trails, while we stand mesmerised!). The lake is a host to so many turtles and birds; Keep an eye out for them and be very quiet while I shoot them, with my camera of course! :) Remember to look up at the trees while they sprout new leaves, and most of all SMILE - because life is good :) 

This hike will be at a moderate pace, not too fast but certainly not too slow. We will stop for water breaks , and sometimes to click pictures of any wild life we see.

There are no restrooms at this location. You require 3 dollars cash for a daily park pass if you dont have an annual pass.

How to Get There:

Approx Physical Address - 6156 Lower Roswell Rd, Marietta, GA 30068

GPS - co-ordinates - 33° 59' 6.14" N, 84° 23' 13.22" W

Gold Branch is on Lower Roswell Road, between Johnson Ferry Road and Wileo Road. The sign is now visible from the road since bushes have been trimmed during road expansion;  however, the park entrance is between residential subdivisions and is easy to miss if you're not watching for it. 

If you're coming from Johnson Ferry Road, it's on the right, about 2 miles from Johnson Ferry.  

If you're coming from Wileo, it's also a couple of miles, but on your left.

If you're following Azalea Drive and turn left onto Wileo, be aware that Wileo becomes Lower Roswell Road when it does a 90 degree left turn.  The park is 2 miles further down Lower Roswell - - on your left. Remember, it's very easy to pass right by it, so slow down and look for the little turn-off after 2 miles!   For those who have been to Gold Branch in the past, be prepared for turning at a new entrance.  Slow down as you get close!
