Itinerary:
With so many events canceled this weekend and a nice weather forecast for Sunday, I thought I'd try to squeeze this hike in.

We will be hiking the entire Panther Creek Trail out and back: 11 miles round trip. With it raining in the two days before our hike, the Falls should be especially voluminous and impressive.

The trail is mostly easy without a lot of elevation change although there are a couple of steep portions, and one area where you have to climb 8-10 feet through a crevice in the rock. Also the terrain does get slightly more tricky and rugged near the end of the trail. And of course 11 miles is always a good workout, so be sure to be in fit hiking shape if you sign up for this event

We will stop to have lunch at the Falls. Hiking poles are highly recommended because it will probably be a bit muddy and slippery after all the rain. Also note: I believe there is a $3 per car parking fee at the trailhead.

Required Items to Bring:
Lunch
2+ liters of water
hiking shoes/boots with good grip
cash for gas (for your carpool driver)
towel to sit on for the ride back / paper sack for mucky boots
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Take US 23/441 south from Tallulah Falls. In 3 miles, turn right on Historic 441 to the Panther Creek Recreation Area on the right. The western end of the trail begins across the highway from the Recreation area
Carpool to Event Distance (round trip):150Mile(s)

Carpool Cost: Estimated cost per vehicle for this event is $60.00 using a reimbursement rate guideline of $0.400 per mile. The total amount should be divided by the number of people in the vehicle, including the driver. This is a guideline, not a rule, for drivers but the cost should not be higher unless there are extenuating circumstances.

Notes:
There is a $3 per car parking fee at the trailhead.
