Itinerary:

Camping on Jekyll Island in late Fall has been one of my favorite activties since I was a little boy growing up in Brunswick. The days are normally sunny and warm, the evenings are cool and the bugs are few.

Alot of folks have a few days off for Thanksgiving and not much else happening so why not some awesome camping with friends? Some of you know the itineraries for my camping trips are very laid back and mostly unstructured. Its all about just having a good time.

Everyone is driving to the event so there is no carpool. Pay our $6 and then motor to the northend of the island. We'll check-in at the campground and setup camp.

Since it is Thanksgiving, I think a Thanksgiving dinner is in order. I will supply the turkey and everyone else will bring a Thanksgiving-type dish to share with the group. Dinner will be at 4:00pm. I'll send out more info on this as we get closer to the event.

Friday and Saturday are free days to do as you wish. No scheduled events. There is a ton to do...ride your bike around the island, hike, kayak, walk driftwood beach (around the street from campground), photography, drive over to St Simons, Brunswick or just hang out in camp under the moss filled oaks and read a book.

You are on your own for all meals (except Thu dinner). I will have a small stove, utensils, pots/pans for the group to use. If we want to organize some group meals, we can certainly look at doing that.

For football fans, a few of us we will watch the GA/GT game on Saturday over at Gnats on St Simons Island. All are welcome to join us and cheer on the Dawgs!

Each night, we'll have a warm toasty fire and share a few beverages, tunes and good times.

Check-out time Sunday is Noon. Carpool folks should be back by 5pm or so depending on holiday traffic of course.

Its always a great time on Jekyll. Hope you can join me!
