Itinerary:

Looking for a "little" exercise?  Join me for the Georgia Triple Crown (Director's cut)

This is more than the usual Coosa/Slaughter/Blood combination! We'll start at Vogel State Park, hiking along the Coosa Backcountry Loop. Along the way we'll summit Coosa Bald (4280') and then the seldom climbed Slaughter Mountain (4338'). Rather than returning to Vogel State Park, we will continue on to Blood Mountain (4458'). Depending on the weather conditions, we might choose to hang out and enjoy the view from the top for a little while. After covering three summits, we will backtrack our steps via Slaughter Gap all the way to Vogel State Park, making this a solid 20+ miler. Adding the summer heat, we should be in for a treat!

This is NOT a beginners hike, so please do not sign up unless you are in excellent physical condition. If you haven't done a D6 or D7 hike with me before, this will not be for you. I reserve the right to remove folks from the sign up list that have not hiked with me before.

As many of you know, the Coosa Backcountry Loop is an extremely strenuous trail. Be sure you are up to a 20+ mile hike with some extended climbs at a fast and steady pace (4 miles/h vertical) and only short stops for water.
