Hike @ Vickery Creek & Optional Lunch

Come join John and me as we hike the trails of Vickery Creek. 

Vickery Creek is one of the most frequented Chattahoochee parks and for good reason. It has some beautiful trails with just the right elevation. Some of the flatter trails follow the banks of the creek. The park houses some mill ruins that existed prior to the civil war. How can we forget the dam, that is sight to behold after a strenous hike. If we're lucky we may spot a heron or even a marriage party!

A section of the trail takes us over some cliffs, which we will tackle, provided it hasn't rained. If you are afraid of heights, this hike might not be the best one for you. We will slow down considerably while crossing this section. 

This will be a moderately paced approximately 5.5 mile hike. We will keep a steady pace and stop and frequent intervals for water breaks and to regroup. 

We meet at the Covered Bridge Entrance, what we also know as the Roswell Mill Entrance of Vickery Creek Unit. There is no parking fee here. Restrooms are available.

This is a rain or shine hike, but we will cancel it in case of thunderstorms.

We are meeting behind the shops at the Roswell Mill Center where the parking is free.  It is where Hwy 9 (S. Atlanta St) and Hwy 120 (Marietta Hwy) intersect.  Keep driving down the road until you get to the big parking lot at the very bottom of the hill.
