Itinerary:

We will be hiking a little over 5 miles this evening on a variety of trails beginning at the first parking lot on the left as you enter the park.  The trails will take us through the woods, across some water features, and at times, follow the contours of the river’s banks, hiking past large, cave-like overhanging rock outcrops.

This is a strenuous, fast-paced fitness hike and is not intended for beginner hikers.  Please arrive early for introductions as we will leave promptly at 6:15 pm.

Just a reminder - there is no restroom here and there is a $3 parking fee if you don't have a CNRA pass.

Did You Know?  The Island Ford Visitor Contact Station was once the summer family home of former Georgia Superior Court Judge Samuel Hewlett. Construction began in the 1930's, using timber from the Okeefenokee Swamp and stone from Stone Mountain, taking six years to complete.
